Four things,
done properly

Local produce, a real choice between organic and spray-free, a pantry section worth the trip, and bread worth planning around.

01

Local Tablelands fruit & veg

Fruit and veg from growers around Atherton, Tolga, Malanda and Mareeba, picked close to home rather than trucked across the country. What is on the shelf changes with the season, which is exactly how it should be.

02

Organic, spray-free & conventional

You choose. Certified organic, spray-free and conventionally farmed produce sit side by side, labelled so you are never guessing. Plenty of small Tablelands farms grow spray-free without the certification paperwork, and their produce is superb.

Pantry staples & dry groceries

Flours, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds and the everyday dry groceries that fill a real pantry. We are a listed stockist of The Australian Superfood Co, so native Australian ingredients are on the shelf in Atherton, not a week away in a delivery van.

Fresh local artisan sourdough

Baked by Ellinjaa Cascades and delivered fresh: organic sourdough loaves and the garlic focaccia people plan their week around. It regularly sells out, so a quick call before you drive in from Yungaburra or Herberton is never a bad idea.

Who makes it

The people
behind the shelf

A wholefoods shop is only as good as the growers and makers behind it. Ours are close to home: Tablelands farms for the fruit and veg, a local bakery for the bread, and an Australian native food company for the pantry range.

Want to know where something came from? Ask. That is the point of a small shop on Main Street instead of a warehouse.

Good questions

Asked in the shop
most weeks

Where can I buy organic produce in Atherton?

FNQ WholeFoods at 55 Main Street, Atherton stocks organic, spray-free and conventionally farmed fruit and veg side by side, so you can choose how you shop. Most of it is grown right here on the Atherton Tablelands. You can also pick up dry groceries and pantry staples in the same trip.

What's the difference between organic and spray-free produce?

Organic produce is grown to a certified organic standard. Spray-free means the grower has not used chemical sprays on the crop, without carrying that certification. Plenty of small Tablelands farms grow spray-free. At FNQ WholeFoods we label which is which, so you always know exactly what you are buying.

Where does your fruit and veg come from?

Local first. The Atherton Tablelands is some of the best growing country in Queensland, so our fruit and veg comes from farms around Atherton, Tolga, Malanda and Mareeba wherever the season allows. When something is not grown locally, we bring in the best we can find and tell you where it came from.

Do you sell fresh sourdough bread in Atherton?

Yes. We stock fresh artisan sourdough from Ellinjaa Cascades, including organic sourdough loaves and their garlic focaccia, delivered fresh to the shop. It regularly sells out, so it is worth calling ahead on 0488 774 807 to check what has landed and put a loaf aside for you.

Do you stock native Australian superfoods?

We do. FNQ WholeFoods is a listed stockist of The Australian Superfood Co, so you can buy native Australian ingredients like their superfood powders and pantry range in store in Atherton instead of ordering online and waiting for delivery to the Tablelands.

Where is FNQ WholeFoods and when are you open?

We are at 55 Main Street, Atherton QLD 4883, on the main street through town, an easy run from Tolga, Yungaburra, Malanda, Herberton and Mareeba. We trade weekdays and close at 4:30pm. Give us a call on 0488 774 807 to check the day you are coming.
